Detroit Tiki Co. founder, Don Tiki, has always been inspired by the Tiki culture. Growing up outside of Detroit in Livonia, Michigan, he was fascinated with the giant Tiki statues that adorned Chin’s Restaurant. Today, he makes Tiki statues in his basement while wearing a loincloth, drinking Zombies and Mai Tais, and listening to Yma Sumac full blast. All of his high-quality Tikis are methodically hand-carved in clay before being cast in cement for longevity and imbued with Pomaikai.
